Slow Motion Escalation

Garage Gallery 2023

This installation is part of the group exhibition Tip of the Tongue. I present two photographs. The first scene captures an old man on a bicycle, gripping the reins of a horse wearing the American flag. The contrast between the horse's power and docility makes me wonder how a change in tempo might escalate the situation — a moment ripe with potential for both harmony and discord.

The second photograph, taken inside an airplane, features a vomit bag. Both pictures are showcased within window cages, with intricately carved barbed wire and hunting arrows as ornaments. On the wall, a graffiti message reads: Slow Motion Escalation

Tip of the Tongue presents works from the artists Juliet Carpenter, Andrea Marcellier, Jiří Pitrmuc, Eva Rybářová, Markéta Slaná, Erika Velická & Tereza Kalousová, Matyáš Maláč, Zeynep Yilmaz. Currated by Natalie Kubikova and Mia Milgrom. Exhibition shots by Jakub Hájek.
